Same Blog, New Home

January 21, 2009

So, I got a bill for an automatic renewal of my web host account.  I only thought about it for a couple seconds and decided that I was tired of maintaining my own softwares.  And, I decided that I was going to make the leap towards Software as a Service.

I signed up for a hosted WordPress.com account and point one of my domains at it.  I’ve had MarkHensler.com for a while and done nothing with it, so it became the target domain for this transition.

I moved all of my blog data over, took a backup of my old filesystem, and canceled my hosting.

I setup MarkHensler.com to point to my WordPress.com blog.

I updated my Facebook.  (So, my blog posts will automagically be imported as Facebook Notes.)

And next, I will forward all MaxAlbert.com traffic to this new domain.

I now will have a really cheap online blog that is always running the latest and greatest version.  I think I’ll like this!

WordPress on iPhone

July 22, 2008

I’m sitting in a meeting, and I’ve just installed a Woespress application on my iPhone. Looks pretty nearo-completo; however, I don’t expect many long blog entries to be authored from my phone.

Two announcements

I have two announcements. First, I have upgrade my blog software, again. I am, once more, running the latest & greatest. Second, I have crossed Idaho off of my list of states to visit.

Latest and Greatest

April 21, 2008

I wouldn’t be surprised if no one noticed.  I haven’t blogged anything in ages, so there’s really been no reason for anyone to visit.  But — I did upgrade WordPress not too long ago.  And, I just wanted to say that this version (2.5) rocks!
