Cracker Barrel Photos

May 30, 2007

March 15, 2007, I blogged (“Good Food? How Far?“) about plans to take a road trip out to Cracker Barrel for lunch.  If you haven’t heard, I did go… And I finally dumped the photos on my camera from my Cracker Barrel road trip with Dan, Jesse and Kraig. I’ve created a “Cracker Barrel Road Trip” set on Flickr.

Systems Analyst

May 25, 2007

Today, I accepted a job offer for a Systems Analyst position at PLNU. The dates haven’t been solidified yet, but I’ll probably start at the new position on June 18th.

I’ll move back to the main campus, which means I’ll have the ability to carpool with Kraig, who lives 2 blocks from my house. We also plan to bike to work one or two days a week (more often if he has his way). I’ll also be working in the building behind the library, so I’ll be able to stop by Sudi’s office more often.

I’m pretty excited. I will once again be a paid code monkey! 😉

Off-Road Biking

May 20, 2007

I went biking again today…. did a little off-road this time. Attendees included: Zach & April, Brianne, Mavi, Jesse, Kris and myself. We road about 45 minutes for about 7 miles — about half off-road.

It was very different. I started off doing very poorly. Sand is some horrible stuff to bike through! I was doing better towards the end, but I still have a ways to go. It was fun, though.

Going the distance

May 7, 2007

Today was gorgeous!  So, Kraig and I decided to go biking.

The original plan was to ride to Seaport Village, but once we got out to Horton Plaza, Kraig said he wanted to bike 15 miles out before turning around.  Cool… so, we followed Harbor Drive a bit further — about 2 lights from the airport.  We made a U-turn and headed back for Seaport Village, where I refilled my water bottle.  Then we smoked the asphalt all the way back home — 29.114 miles and 2 hrs 7 minutes later.

My legs are a little sore and I’m exhausted, but I really don’t hurt like I had expected.

Bike Rack

May 4, 2007

My back-ordered bike rack arrived earlier this week.   I tried it out for the first time today.  It’s pretty cool.  It’s sturdy enough and whatnot, but it’s not theft proof.  A little sad, but it’s what was available.
