So, our existing NAS solution is filling up. We’re at 453 GB of it’s 466 GB post RAID 5 capacity. Obviously, we need another NAS… So, we’re looking at this puppy: a gigabit enabled 2TB (1.5 TB post RAID 5) NAS devise

But will it be enough? 😛

    Why not just get a RAID5 card and toss it into an old system running Linux. Probably be cheaper.

    Because this is simpler. I’ve never done RAID on linux, and I don’t want to spend the time to build, configure and maintain a computer. We’ve been very satisfied with our other Buffalo TeraStation. You just plug this sucker in, turn it on and you’re all set.
