Starbucks

December 31, 2006

We all joke about Starbucks being around every corner… but believe it or not, they’ve even got one in the Forbidden City!  Check it out.

Fun with words

December 27, 2006

I just posted a new blog (Mannequins). I really enjoyed writing this sarcastic piece, and I think I’ll revisit this style in the future.

I used Thesaurus.com and Dictionary.com to create some puns… and expand my vocabulary — *gasp*.

Why you should not consider dating a clothing model…

I’ve seen a few hotties, but I’ve never been able to pick one up, let alone, take one out. In fact, they insist on not going anywhere. And when you do get one to move, all they do is moan.

And have you ever tried talking with one? They just stare right past you! We’ve all heard, “No means no.” But what if you don’t get a response? Granted, I’m not the smoothest “lady’s man”, but they don’t respond to any pick-up lines! It’s like finding a pulse on a corpse. They just won’t acknowledge your existence.

To be fair, I should admit that their behavior may be the result of their rigid work environment. I hear that their stiff-necked colleagues stand by some rather inflexible guidelines. And the industry itself portrays an image of porcelain-doll-perfection. Most would crack under that kind of heat. But these woman somehow withstand all the pressure.

Having said that, they still seem rather insensitive and stuck-up when they turn away would-be suitors. They are cold, heartless and without emotion.

To conclude… the next time you’re cruising down the isle at J.C. Penny and you see a clothing model, just look the other way!

PlayStation 3

December 23, 2006

Just thought I’d try posting a blog from my brother’s PlayStation 3. 😉

Discoveries

December 22, 2006

I’ve been cruisin’ the net and I found a couple things that I thought I’d share.

First, FireFox 2 is out. So, I just upgraded from 1.5.x. A great browser; go get it!

Secondly, I just found some playable versions of Rogue (web based java applet) and Hack (downloadable exe). Both very cool; check ’em out!

Curse of the Golden Flower

December 16, 2006

I just found out about a upcoming movie, Curse of the Golden Flower. It stars Chow Yun Fat and Gong Li!

Unfortunately, the movie release date varies. December 21 in New York. December 22 in Los Angeles. And then January 12, nationwide. I’m thinking about getting some peeps together to go up to LA on the 22nd.

This week

December 11, 2006

I’ve been wanting to blog something the last few days, but I just haven’t been in a creative writting mood. I’m still not, but I thought of something to write about that doesn’t require much creativity. I’m going to write down my schedule for the next week…. (more…)

Too much, too soon

I biked to Dan’s house again Tuesday. On the way home from work, I stopped at Walmart and bought some lights and a cyclometer. The lights worked well enough. And the cyclometer lies! It said the trip to Dan’s is 7.4 miles… it feels soo much further!

Anywhoo… I biked the 7.4 miles to Dan’s in 35 minutes. Then turned around and biked back home. Total distance 14.382 miles; max speed was 31.6 mph; average speed was 11.8 mph; total time was 1:13:24.
My back hurts!!

Booyah!

December 3, 2006

Today, I cycled from my house to dan’s house (via Otay Lakes Road to East H Street). And I did it in 50 minutes. This is probably my longest (distance) ride. A couple times, I’ve gone from my house to church, around Rohr Park and the golf course back to the church, then back up Briarwood Road to my house. Quickest time, so far, is 45 minutes. I haven’t measured the distance for either ride.

I’m looking for my next challenge… 😉
