Stories

April 24, 2006

I finally posted the “Kneed to Know” story. I started it months and months ago, but only finished it this evening.  I want to do some more writting, as I think I need the practice and I do enjoy storytelling.

Currently, I have stories planned for my dislocated shoulder, my experiences falling through holes in the shipyard, and getting struck in the head twice in my last two weeks in the shipyard.

If you know of any other stories that I should tell.  Let me know!

I want my car back

April 24, 2006

I had to leave my car at the shop Sunday. It had this slight grinding noise. As it turns out, I needed new bearings for my front left wheel. So, I had to drive my dad’s car to work today. Argh. I was almost hit twice!

Kneed to Know

April 24, 2006

We were at Grandma’s house, for one reason or another. I don’t remember why, a birthday party, family get together, holiday or maybe just a hot summer weekend. It doesn’t really matter; the important part is that we were swimming. We were swimming, and we were having fun.

First Aid

April 20, 2006

I am now First Aid certified. Mark, April and myself went to a 6-10pm class tonight at the Red Cross, and we’re certified for three years.

And our instructor was a cute blonde. 😉

I be moving on up

April 19, 2006

On May 16th, I’ll be moving into a new position:

Graduate Admissions Systems Coordinator

This was a rather quick application process. The Dean of Admissions told me about the position before it was posted. I applied the day it was posted. Sent an email of inquiry, about a week after applying. Had an interview scheduled for the next Tuesday. Was told I would hear about a decision in the next week, but heard back the next afternoon with an offer.

My head is still spinning. I’m very excited, but I realise I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Testing…

April 15, 2006

Today, we met at the church at 9am to start setting up skate ramps. We were doing a dry run to see how long it would take to setup and tear down. We also had some skaters from Orphinage (skate shop in Chula Vista) come out to show us how to arrange the ramps and test out the equipment.

It took about a half-hour to get the ramps out of the connex box. And after a long day of configuring ramps… it took 2-3 hours to pack everything up and put the ramps back in the connex box. We’ve left some configurations fully assembled. Other configurations were too large to fit in the connex, so we had to break them into smaller parts. We’re hoping that set-up/tear-down wont take so long every time.

Next Attempt: April 30th
Launch Date: May 6th

Eternity Skate

April 13, 2006

Some of our promotional flyers have escaped… so I’ve put up a temporary Eternity Skate website.  The new site should be up by the 23rd.

New Toy!

April 3, 2006

XV6700I just bought the XV6700 from Verizon. It’s a SmartPhone, which means a basic PDA with cellular capabilities. It runs Windows Mobile 5 and has Bluetooth and WiFi.

What prompted this purchase? Well, I’ve been looking at MP3 players. And I really needed a day planner. And my cell phone is all banged up. So I got an all-in-one. 🙂
