hold your breath

December 25, 2005

Sorry for the downtime. I’m back up, but not permanently — not yet. I will be moving my blog, gallery and some other stuff to an off-site (out of my hosue) server for stability and up-time. My current linux server at home will still run a web server, but only for my personal amusement. But when it’s all said and done, it’s sole purpose will file serving.

When I move from the in-house server to the off-site server, there will be a perceived down time while DNS propogates for the new IPs. This should be the end of prolonged down-times.

Past Pastime

December 2, 2005

I just got an email from a member at The Webmaster Forums, who was asking me to help with a C/C++ homework assignment. Argh. This is something I love doing. But I haven’t had the time to do any of it in the last 2 years. I still get excited when I get emails from people asking for programing help, but I hate writing back telling them I don’t have the time for it.

Struck gold

December 1, 2005

Well, not gold. Not exactly. Right now, I have 7 lead bricks sitting in my car. (I had 8, but Jesse wanted to take one home.) The 8 bricks are estimated to weigh about 230 pounds, and they will be an awesome counter-weight for the trebuchet!

Lemme tell ya… when my buddy drove up with these in his car, I was so giddy. I still can’t wait to see these bad boys in action!
