The Ladykillers

The LadykillersThe Ladykillers was a disappointment. I can’t remember being disappointed with a Tom Hanks movie. I was so looking forward to this one.

The movie had a good ending, but was really slow to start. To build the character development in the begining, the movie jumped between the characters so abruptly I was lost. Marlon Wayans delivered quite a few lines with adult dialog.

I don’t think I can recommend this movie. It just wasn’t unique enough or done well enough. If you want a good heist movie, go rent Ocean’s Eleven or Bandits.

Perhaps a proper TV and a sitable couch and a entertainment center arranged at and angle where 85% of the viewers don’t have a horrible glare off the screen would help? For a family that watches as many movies as you guys, I am still amazed you don’t have something better to watch these quality films on. I mean you’re playing a DVD on a DVD player connected to a VCR which modulates to Channel 3 on the TV. Component or bust baby! Plus the TV’s volume when turned all the way up can barely hit 90dB.

90db?! I doubt it gets anywhere near that. I’m always complaining about the setup and dropping no-so-subtle reminders whenever we’re at BestBuy.

The Terminal w/Hanks looks good. Waiting for that on video.

    Ocean’s 12 comes out in December. w00t!
